I am trying to book online using the “Book Now” button, but it won’t let me and says I should call instead?

You cannot book online using the “Book Now” button if it is less than 16 hours before your desired/selected start time for the rental. If this is the case, please text us at 859-583-6452 and we will see if there is availability.

What launch sites are included in free delivery?

Herrington Lake: Kamp Kennedy, Pandora, Chimney Rock, Cane Run, Royalty’s, Sunset, Herrington Lake, Kings Mill, Coffey’s Cove, Gwinn Island, Mid Lake, and The Cove Marinas are all within free delivery zone. Some (but not all) of these charge $5 for launching a kayak or SUP. Many lake houses are within free delivery zone.

Rivers: Shaker’s landing at Shaker Village (Kentucky River), Camp Nelson boat ramp (Kentucky River) and several Salt river launch sites (Ramp 3, Dry Branch Road Access) are within the free delivery area. Salt river can be kayaked seasonally–>it gets too shallow sometimes in late summer and fall.

Not free delivery: We will deliver to Cummins Ferry Campground, Oregon Road boat ramp, and High Bridge boat ramp (Kentucky River) for $30 per load (up to 6 kayaks/SUPs in a load). However, if you are renting $100 or more worth of kayaks/SUP’s/etc., then we will waive the delivery fee for these drop off/pick up locations, and deliver for free.

Can you drop off the kayak/SUP at one location and pick me up at another?

Yes, we can do that. We can also drive you back to your original launch point. This may or may not be free, depending on if both sites are within the free delivery zone.

Will you deliver to places outside the free delivery zone?

Yes, we will–> if your location if more than 10 mile away from Kamp Kennedy Marina on Herrington Lake we charge $3 per mile for delivery over that distance (per booking, not per kayak). We will not deliver more than 20 miles away from Kamp Kennnedy Marina, except under special circumstances (such as a large group booking, email or text for inquiries). Do you have any suggestions on where to go on the lake if I am new/inexperienced to kayaking?

Launching from Cane Run Marina and RV Park (aka Freeman’s Cane Run Camp) on Herrington Lake is a good first outing. It is a no-wake zone, is a small and calm boat launch, very scenic and quiet, within our free delivery zone, and has a a cheap launch fee ($5 per load of kayaks). If you are new to kayaking, 2 hours is probably enough time…most people start getting pretty tired by the 2 hour mark.

How do I specify I want a fishing kayak?

Please send us a text that you want a fishing kayak, and we will reserve one for you. All fishing kayaks have rod holders.

Does the free delivery, or delivery charge, include both the delivery and the pick up after we are done?

Yes.

I weigh over 230 pounds, and I am worried about the weight limit of kayaks/SUPs. What should I do?

Please send us a text if this is the case, our larger fishing kayaks and inflatable SUPs can accommodate 350+ pound users. However, let us know at the time of booking so we can make sure you receive one of these during your rental.

Can I get my money back if I cancel my booking?

Yes. there is free cancellation prior to 48 hours of when your booking begins (your full payment will be returned to your credit card, as long as you cancel before 48 hours prior to your booking time), 50% refund if you cancel between 24-48 hours of your booking.

Will I get a refund if I am unable to kayak/SUP due to weather or water conditions the day of my rental?

If the weather or water conditions are such that you cannot kayak or paddleboard on your booked day, then you will receive a gift card for the full amount you paid for the rental that you can use with us within 1 year of your original booking date.

Will I get a refund if I decide the day of my rental that I don’t want as many kayaks/SUPs as I originally reserved?

If you want to reduce the number of kayaks/SUPs you want to rent the same day of your reservation you will not receive a refund unless their are extenuating circumstances out of your control. In that case, we will provide you with a gift card for the difference that you can use within 1 year of your original booking date. You can change the number of kayaks/SUPs with a full refund as long as it is 48 hours before your reservation, and with a 50% refund within 24-48 hours of your reservation.

I only want to rent 1 kayak for 2 hours, can I get free delivery?

No, because there is a minimum of $35 you must pay to qualify for free delivery. However, if you rent one kayak for up to 4 hours, you qualify for free delivery

Do you offer guided tours or kayak/paddleboard lessons? What if I want to rent a kayak/SUP for longer than 4 hours?

We may occasionally offer guided kayak/paddleboard tours–if and when we do they will be announced on our social media pages. If you have a group that is interested in this, please text or email us and we may be able to schedule it. Please text us if you want to rent a kayak or SUP for longer than 4 hours–>it may be possible and economical, depending on how many kayaks are already reserved for that day.

Are you open year round?

We will be open from May 1st until October 31st.

Where is your store located at?

We are a mobile rental company–this means we do not have a store-front, but instead deliver kayaks and SUPs to you, and pick them up when you are finished. We deliver to marinas and various boat launches, but will also deliver to your home, rental/Airbnb, etc.
